The Advantages of Tumescent Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is considered to be the safest type of liposuction. It was first used by the dermatologist Dr. Jeffry Klein several years ago. The tumescent technique reduces to a large extent most drawbacks of other liposuction procedures. It is performed by injecting large quantities of dilute solution into the fattened areas. This solution consists of lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, combined with epinephrine, a drug that shrinks the capillaries. This injection of tumescent anesthesia makes for several benefits: first, it minimises post-operative discomfort, and second, it reduces the bleeding during the operation.

Ordinary liposuction techniques were performed on many patients and they were all complaining about the post-operative disorders like easy bruising and swelling after the operation. The tumescent liposuction significantly reduces the risk of bruises and swollen areas on the body to occur, because it does not use general anesthesia. Due to the local anesthesia, which takes 12 to 18 hours to subside, a post-operative discomfort is treated using only the slight Tylenol as medication. With tumescent technique you will feel no post-operative nausea, as with other types of liposuction using general anesthesia. Tumescent liposuction also reduces the bleeding during the operation. Many patients are healthy enough to return to work and manage with their daily activities only several days after the operation.

Apart from the avoided discomfort, tumescent liposuction is also the fastest technique when it comes to the results to show. Almost 90 % of the patients notice changes in their silhouette several weeks after the operation itself. But the natural post-operative swelling takes some months to subside before the final results are appreciated by everyone. Let�s put a few words about the technique itself. Tumescent liposuction removes the fat by suctioning small �tunnels� through the fat. Tumescent technique does not use a big cannula, because it is clumsier, it leaves scars and many skin cells can be defected. Tunneling provides insignificant infliction over the skin cells and protects their fibrous attachment to the deeper layers of muscle cells. By fibres that connect skin cells with muscles, the skin retains its elasticity and can easily recover after the operation. Thus the tumescent liposuction helps to minimise the risks of post-operative irregularities or rippling of the skin. Another thing to have in mind when using liposuction, is that the technique itself does not reduce �cellulite�.

Cellulite results from the pull of fibrous tissue that attaches the skin to the underlying muscles. Tumescent liposuction can do some improvement on the cellulite, but it may as well fail, because the aim of the liposuction is different. The side effects that a liposuction operation can cause vary from bruising to temporary numbness. Of course, in every technique small irregularities of the skin are possible to occur. This can easily be improved by several touch-up procedures. They will enhance to the maximum the patient�s good looks after the operation. But viewed in overall, tumescent liposuction is very safe for the patient. It eliminates the risk of blood clots, infections and allergic reactions as well.

As we move forward into the 21st century, more and more men and women are involving themselves in body building. In order to be successful at body building, a person needs to coordinate an ambitious exercise routine with an appropriate diet regimen. In the end, body building success depends as much upon what you do with your body in a gym as it does with what you put into your body at home.

Certain diet routines and plans have proven to be beneficial directly to the goals of body builders. One regimen that contains the elements of health eating that are essential for a dedicated body builder is found in the Mediterranean diet.

The Mediterranean diet is a perfect choice for an ardent body builder for seven basic reasons.

1. Body Building and Fruits and Vegetables

Nutrition experts believe that a typical diet should include at least five servings of fruits and vegetables during the course of a given day. A body builder needs to more than double this amount of fruits and vegetables. In this regard, the Mediterranean diet is ideal. In the Mediterranean diet, a person typically consumes upwards to over ten generous servings of fruits and vegetables throughout the day.

In body building, it is recommended that the fruits and vegetables included within the diet be taken in raw. (Steamed vegetables are acceptable. However, over steaming can result in a loss of some of the nutrients that naturally are contained in fruits and vegetables.)

2. Body Building and Raw Foods

Various raw foods, including fruits and vegetables, are also rich in anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants �clean up� oxidants that can form in the body. Oxidants are the negative byproduct of oxygen burnt within the body for energy. Anti-oxidants assist a body builder on many fronts, including lessening muscle atrophy which can be a significant problem in a body builder as he or she ages.

Protein is the essential ingredient necessary to build body mass -- which is the ultimate goal of the body building in training. Through the Mediterranean diet, a person interested in pursuing a healthy course of body building can take in protein through lean meats and whole grains.

4. Embracing a Diet Low in Saturated Fat

Saturated fats are destructive to any reasonable body building routine. Obviously, one of the ultimate goals of body building is to eliminate unnecessary and unwanted fat from the body.

While working out is a surefire way of eliminating fat, it is also important for a body builder to elect a dieting course that is low in saturated fat. The Mediterranean diet fits this bill perfectly. Although a person utilizing the Mediterranean diet will be taking in calories from fat -- primarily from olive oil which is used effusively in the diet regimen -- the that is being ingested is not saturated.

5. Satisfying the Energy Demands of the Active Body Builder

A person following the Mediterranean diet draws in calories and �energy food� from three primary sources:

In the end, the reason that the Mediterranean diet is so beneficial to body builders is precisely the same reason that it is a perfect plan for healthy eating for �average folk.� The Mediterranean diet is a solid plan because it consists of healthy food items eaten in balanced, appropriate proportions throughout the course of the day.

A Cheap and Natural Way to Healthy Skin

Healthy skin happens when we eat good foods, have enough
exercise, minimize stress and protect our skin from the
harsh environment.

Certain foods are especially beneficial to the skin.
Garlic
is one such food. It contains sulphur compounds
(which give it its rather strong odor) which are beneficial
to your skin. It also acts as a natural antibiotic and
cleanses the whole system. If you like garlic, eat it as
much as you can. If the smell worries you, chew a piece of
parsley afterwards and this will neutralize it. Odorless
garlic tablets are available if this is all too hard.

Vitamin C is probably the most important skin vitamin
in my opinion. Not least because the human body can neither
make it or store it. This vitamin helps collagen formation
which keeps the skin looking young and plump. This could be
why smoker�s skin can look older than a non smoker�s.
Smoking also uses up the oxygen in the blood. Give it up if
humanly possible or at least cut it down.

Vitamin C is best consumed together with bioflavonoids,
the way it is normally found in nature. The two have a
synergistic effect. They can be found in Citrus fruit,
berries such as strawberries and blueberries and vegetables
such as broccoli.

Broccoli also contain vitamin A, an important vitamin
for skin as it helps it fight infection from the inside out.
Great for those with acne! Have some every other day if you
can.

Carrots are a great source of carotenoids such as
"beta-carotene" which your body converts to vitamin A .
Beta-carotene is absorbed into the skin and can also protect
it from the sun's harmful UV rays. Carrots also contain
"alpha carotene" which protects against free radical damage.
Carrots are a great way to get your vitamin A as excess
carotenoids are expelled by the body. Too much vitamin A is
toxic to the body.

Dark leafy green vegetables, particularly kale and
spinach are a good source of zinc and iron. Iron will make
sure your skin gets enough oxygen and zinc is a great pimple
fighter. Eat some every day if you possible can or include
some in a fresh juice.

Parsley deserves a separate mention as it is rich in
just about all the skin boosting nutrients. It contains beta
carotene, chlorophyll, vitamin B12, folic acid (great for
firm skin), vitamin C and iron. Parsley can be added to
juices, casseroles, sprinkled over any savory dish or simply
chewed by itself. Its great for fresh breath too. Parsley is
easy to grow, pop some in a pot and keep it near the kitchen
door.

Olive oil is fabulous for dry skin and wrinkles. Use
it for cooking - it contains monounsaturated fats and anti
oxidants- or slather it on your skin after a bath.

Flaxseeds and flax oil (also known as linseed)
contain the essential omega 3 oils not found in many foods.
(Fish also contains omega 3). Flaxseeds contain fiber and
phytoestrogens which balance the body's hormones and are
vital for younger looking skin. Sprinkle some on your cereal
or use in soups and stews.

Avocados give skin (especially dry skin) a boost.
Although fairly high in fat, its the healthy monounsaturated
kind which makes dry skin supple. Avocados contain
glutathione which is one of the most powerful antioxidants
around and will prevent cell damage in all skin types. They
are also high in potassium.

Drink as much water as you can, this flushes out toxins and
helps to hydrate the skin. If you can�t drink eight glasses
a day - I can�t unless its 40 degrees - then just drink as
much as you can without being uncomfortable.

Skin needs sufficient protein to replace and repair itself.
Most of us have plenty of protein in our diets but a lot of
it comes with a lot of fat attached. If you can substitute
low fat items e.g. milk, peanut butter, cheese etc, then do
so. You�ll still be eating the same amount. Lean meat is
fine, fish is even better as it contains natural omega 3
oils which are great for your skin and your health.

Try and add as many fruits and vegetables as possible to
your diet. If you �re a committed junk food �junkie� this
may seem impossible, but if you tackle it in small bites (pun intended!) It will be easy. Commit yourself to healthy
foods on certain days of the week or drink water instead of
soda in the afternoons. When this becomes comfortable,
expand it to every day. Its just breaking old habits and
replacing them with new ones. After a while you�ll be
comfortable with it. And you�ll feel better and loose weight
too.

The purists tell us that all vitamins and minerals can be
obtained from foods and there is no need for us to take
supplements. In theory this is true, however the stress of
life today probably robs our system of vitamin B. Smoking
uses up about 35 mg of vitamin C per day.

Added to this, the practice of storing fresh
produce for extended amounts of time, can�t help but deplete
the natural vitamins in these foods. The pollution in our
cities and some of our bad habits like eating junk and
smoking (who me?) leads to the production of free radicals
in the body. For this we need an antioxidant which contains
among others beta carotene (a precursor of vitamin A),
vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, lycopene (found in tomatoes)
and zinc.

Healthy skin loves exercise! It doesn�t matter what kind.
Walking, jogging, all types of sport, aerobics, thumping
around in the gym, whatever you enjoy try and fit it in
three times a week. If you don�t enjoy any exercise, find
one! Join a group of people or find a walking buddy, you
will
get to enjoy it I promise!

Stress is bad for you and bad for your skin. Stress will
slow the circulation of blood to the skin causing a shortage
of oxygen to the cells. It will also deplete certain
nutrients from the body - for example vitamin B. It can ruin
your sleep thus preventing the repair and regeneration of
skin cells. It will put worry lines on your face and will
make you look old before your time! Who needs it? No-one!

Power meals is the term I came up for a particular meal structure that if eaten at specified times during the day can boost your bodys abilty to Gain Weight.

A power meal is basically a meal which comprises of a quick digesting source of protein and particular energy foods which also digest quickly and help to increase blood glycogen levels as fast as possible.

An example of this would be a quality whey protein powder blended with certain fruits.

Power meals are for these specified times only. Too many power meals will compromise building lean muscle by increasing fat gain and lowering your sensitivity to insulin.

Gain Weight Tip-7: Eat Foods Your Body Requires For Optimal Growth Hormone Production and Health.

To naturally produce hormones your body requires for gaining weight, specifically testosterone, you need to give it the building blocks it requires.
Testosterone is made from cholestrol ( simplified).
To gain weight by building muscle you need testosterone.
This is the main difference why males are more muscular than females.
It is because men have higher testosterone levels than females.
To give your body what it requires for optimal hormone production you require the right fats in your gain weight diet.

Examples of these fats would include:

coconut oil

animal fats

eggs

Essential oils

butter

Stay away from trans fats and hydrogenated fats!!

It is crucial you get enough protein per day and spread it out throughout your day. Protein requirements have been exagerated for many years in the interests to sell more protein.

On the other hand protein requirements are definitely higher for a person or athlete training to gain weight than for a lazy couch potato hunting for his next show with a remote control!
At least one gram per pound of lean body mass is required to build muscle to gain weight and up to 1.5 grams per pound of lean muscle mass is optimal for heavy intense weight training.

Gain Weight Tip-10: Choose Your Supplements Wisely.

There are lots of supplements to choose from on the market and 99% of them are inferior to natural food for building muscle to gain weight. Natural food is higher in many naturally occuring vitamins and minerals benficial for muscle growth.
Stay away from weight gain powders. These are just empty calories not much different than most junk foods on the market.
Supplements that are worth trying are Creatine monohydrate , L Glutamine ( in moderation and carefully) and a good healthy protein powder without artificial sweeteners, colors and flavours( more on in a later lesson).

Moving is hard work, stressful and filled with adventure. These do's and don'ts can help you position the new home adventure you or someone you know is having a positive one. It makes sense to know what's proper and what's not in your or your relatives, friends or neighbors new home and hood. Mark Nash author of 1001 Tips for Buying and Selling a Home shares some do's and don'ts on new homeowner etiquette.

Do's

-Host your own housewarming party, if your a new homeowner invite friends and family over to see the new place.

-Deliver your sets of keys to your new neighbors home that the previous homeowners gave to you.

-Introduce yourself, your partner and children to your neighbors before they seek you out. New homeowners, young and old love to be welcomed to the hood.

-Offer to introduce you new neighbors and their dog(s) to other dogs they might run into on neighborhood walks.
Don't forget to warn new homeowners with pets about which dog-owners allow their dogs to go off-leash.

-Offer advice on your favorite bakery, hair stylist, babysitters and dog groomers.

-Alert them to the locations of 24-hour stores, in case your new neighbors have an emergency in the middle of the night.

-Offer to help family members who are new homeowners get unpacked or clean.

-Offer to take mountains of packing and moving boxes to the local recycling center for new homeowners.

-Offer to host an informal neighborhood get-together for your new neighbors to meet the current ones.

-Know when it's time to go home, don't wear out your welcome with the new homeowners.

-Bring your new neighbors bottles of chilled spring water on moving day and offer to catch up with them once they get settled.

-Deliver your name, address and phone number with a list of emergency numbers to your new neighbor.

-Offer to clear recently moved-in new neighbors sidewalks after a snowfall, especially if they moved from a non-snow climate.

-Suggest that packages your new neighbors are expecting can be left at your home while they are at work.

-Wave to your new neighbors if you don't have the time to talk.

-Ask your neighbors who they would recommend for repairs and remodeling projects in your new home.

-Do learn from neighbors with different cultural backgrounds.

-Gossip about the previous homeowners, you might not know if the new owners still talk with them.

-Gossip about others in the neighborhood. Let new make their own decisions.

-Attach ribbons, signs or flags to the new homeowners property without asking permission.

-Ask your new neighbor to trim trees or hedges on your first meeting, they probably know what needs to be done, in time.

-Expect new homeowners to have free time. Moving, working and setting up a household is at the minimum a part-time endeavor.

Food You Eat

Thousands of women crave larger, fuller lips. Everywhere you turn you see models on magazine covers with impossibly full, pouty lips. Were they all really born with naturally fabulous lips, or did they get a little help from a good "cosmeceutical" lip plumper?

What are Cosmeceuticals?

Cosmeceuticals are the marriage of cosmetics and pharmaceutical-type technology. They are the modern marvel of the cosmetics world that allow women to nonsurgically alter their appearance dramatically, and without trauma, needles or scalpels. Examples of cosmeceuticals are as follows:

1.) Advanced lip plumpers that deliver deep hyrdration and plumping agents as microparticles beneath the skin, or transdermally, which plump the lips dramatically and usually can last for hours.

2.) Wrinkle fillers such as the touted "botox alternatives" with the temporary wrinkle filling, or skin plumping ingredient hyaluronic acid.

3.) Acne refining products and antiaging in-home treatments that mimic the effects of in-office treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels and laser therapy.

4.) Breast Enhancing and enlarging supplements, serums and creams which can enhance fullness and size of breasts.

5.) Cellulite or fat reduction creams, gels and serums which claim to help break down cellulite and reduce thigh circumference.

These are just some examples in the realm of natural cosmetic enhancement that fall in the same category as natural lip plumpers and lip enlargement products.

Signs of a Good Lip Plumper

Look for customer reviews on lip plumpers before you invest. Good lip enhancers will usually show some type of a review or maybe even a before and after picture of typical results from product use. If there are not pictures, then you should be able to see some sort of written testimonials. Also, reputation counts for a lot! Word of mouth, no pun intended, lends a lot of credibility to any cosmetic product.

Look for emollient ingredients (moisturizing) and stay away form too many "acids" or alcohols, as they only will result in dried out, parched lips that only stay plumped for about a half hour, and only work by irritating the outer layer of the lip which results in flushing and temporary plumping.

I can think of a few I've tried that fit into this category. I won't mention names, but let's just say you should stay away from any that are a "lip plumping gel". It's important the the product uses a creamy base, not a gel base, which will only dry and crack your lips.

My favorite lip plumper is one that actually delivers moisture in a cream base along with microspheres of collagen that are supposed to transdermally absorb into the lips, noticeably plumping and moisturizing your lips for hours at a time. It also gives a slight sheen to your lips that doesn't feel gooey or tacky.

Ask and You Shall Receive

Fuller, plumper lips can definitely be yours, without surgery or needles. You just have to know which ones work, and with use you will definitely see a noticeable difference in the fullness, moisture, and plumpness of your lips. I know I have my personal favorites, and the reason I like these particular lip enhancing products over others is that they do not dry my lips out at all, yet they plump them. As long as you can find one that does the job without parching your pout, you've got a winner!

What's My Motivation? Designing Goal Setting Experiments for a Fulfilling Life

I read Buckminster Fuller's Universe by Lloyd Steven Sieden at the recommendation of a client and was so struck by a passage in the preface that I wanted to share it with you.

"Fuller became so adamant about the contribution he could make that in 1927 he actually created an experiment using himself as "Guinea Pig B" (for "Bucky"). The specific purpose of this experiment was to determine and document what one individual could accomplish on behalf of all humanity which could not be achieved by any organization, government or business, regardless of its size or power. That experiment remained a critical element of Fuller's daily life until his death fifty-six years later."

Can you see the depth of the love and service in that experiment? What greater love is there than to say, I am going to dedicate my life to the experiment of seeing how much goodness, love, creativity and beauty I can bring to the world in my lifetime?

So many of our goals have to do with our external life. We want more money, more time, more energy, more happiness, a better job and to get our bodies in shape. Often these goals have to do with a sense of lack or dissatisfaction. We want more of something, like money or status, or less of something, like cellulite, or clutter.

So, Bucky has me thinking now. What if we shifted our focus to who we want to be rather than what we want to have or get rid of? What if we focused on what we wanted to give and contribute rather than what we want to receive? What would happen in your life if your single resolution was to experiment with how much love, goodness, beauty and creativity you could bring to the world or at least your particular corner of it?

Notice the word experiment.

You don't have to know exactly what this is going to look like. Allow yourself to be more curious than certain and let your single resolution simply be the guiding principle by which you assess your actions.

Think about it. If one wants to bring more love to the World, that includes everything. Bucky used the term "Universe" without "the" in front of it. He chose to do this because using "the" separates Universe from Us. Universe isn't separate, it is everything, all inclusive and we are fully integrated with it and influenced by it whether we are aware of this or not. Think in terms of eco-systems. Eco-systems have always existed, even though our awareness of such integration is a relatively new development. Viewing ourselves as separate from Universe, Nature, and others is dangerous the the health of the system we are a part of.

By way of practical example, if I want to bring more love to the World, and I really stay present to that thought, I am far less likely to eat things that are bad for me. Filling myself with unhealthy food is not an expression of love for myself. Serving unhealthy food to others is similarly inconsistent with my overarching desire for my life to bring more love to the world.

And there are ripples from shifts like this.

There is a Community Supported Farm not far from me. The weekly dinners we would have with friends when our vegetables would arrive were the medium for cementing a friendship that is a strong as ever even though these friends live half a country away now. A decision to eat organic food led to community and friendship, not to mention the benefit to the farm and the good works that they extend themselves in to.

Thinking about being more loving and aware is a lot more appealing and motivating to me than "I have to lose ten pounds".

When you are guided by your values, self-abusive habits like spending money you don't have, failing to take your body out for some fresh air and exercise, and participating in gossip start to fall away because they aren't consistent with who you want to be.

This does not mean that you have to become self-righteous. You have to live in the world and it is best not to annoy people with your new found wisdom and insight. This is why I love the idea of this being an experiment. You can approach this gently. All you are doing is just keeping the question alive here. How can I be more loving in this situation? How can I be more creative here? How can I bring more peace to this situation?

What starts to happen ultimately is that fear has less and less room to grow. If I say "I want to make a million dollars this year" I add a level of stress that colors everything I do. I start to view what I do in terms of money, my clients in terms of money, my time in terms of the money it will or will not bring me, other coaches as a threat to my piece of the pie. In short, I start to compete.

If, however, I say I want to bring more love, goodness and creativity to the world, that is going to guide my interactions with everyone I am in contact with, including my virtual network of readers. If I respect myself and the values which guide my actions, I will treat myself better and there will be more of me to give as a result. Not surprisingly, my world, including but not limited to, my business will thrive.

If I say, "I want to lose fifteen pounds" I will start to fear food. I will deprive myself, feel constricted, get discouraged, and get stressed when the holiday goodies surround me. If I come from a perspective of making loving choices for myself, it will be a lot easier to engage in moderation. I'll allow myself treats without being upset that I have "blown my diet".

A lifestyle guided by loving, healthy choices will get you where you want to go.

So, I invite you to join me. Design your own experiment. Set aside your goals and reflect on the values you hold most dear. Let those values guide the actions of your day at work, at home, in your private times. Consider what could be accomplished on the part of humanity if we each committed to living a life based on love rather than fear.
